By Air

Air is the most common means of traveling to Palestine via Israel until Gaza Airport is opened. Flights to and from Israel are regular and inexpensive. Lod “Ben Gurion” Airport, situated midway between Jerusalem and Tel Aviv, is Israel’s international air gateway. Additionally, there are regular charter flights from many European countries. If flying via Israel, fares during the main Jewish or Christian holidays are higher and need to be booked well in advance.

By Land Travel

If you are planning to go to Lebanon or Syria, do so before you go to Israel - if there's an Israeli stamp in your passport, neither of these countries will let you in. Although Jordan and Egypt have open borders with Israel, you may not cross them in a taxi or a hire car. Buses travel direct between Tel Aviv/Jerusalem and Cairo (a 10-hour trip) or you can catch a series of buses via Rafah or Eilat. There are three border crossings to Jordan - the Allenby/King Hussein Bridge (where helpful officials may avoid stamping your passport), the Jordan River (which is not particularly convenient to anywhere) and Arava (two km north-east of Eilat). Buses run through all of these crossings, and the exit tax from Israel varies between 50 NIS and 90 NIS. A ferry service runs between Haifa and Athens, Greece, usually via Crete or Cyprus.

By Sea Travel

To travel to Palestine by sea , one must for now travel via Israeli ports ( Pending the opening of the Gaza sea port.)Israel; is connected to mainland Europe by a regular ferry service between Haifa and Piraeus, near Athens in Greece. The trip usually involves a stopover in Rhodes, or sometimes in Crete, with all ferries stopping additionally at Imassil in Cyprus. The Piraeus - Haifa journey takes about 58 hours.
Alternatively, one can take the ferry only as far as Rhodes and change there for Kusadisi in Turkey. The Red Sea is also another way of crossing to Palestine through Egypt.
